NFL Regular Season Awards

MVP: Peyton Manning. 14-2 the number one seed in the AFC, it could have been a perfect season if his coach were a fucking man, and he has made stars out of undrafted free agents Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie. Manning is everything to that team, and his ability to read, pick apart, and dissect a defense is simply remarkable.

Offensive player of the Year: Chris Johnson. 2000 rushing yards, and he almost single-handedly willed his team from 0-6 to the playoffs. The best player in the NFL this season.

Defensive Player of the Year: Darrelle Revis. His ability to completely shut down and take the offense's number one receiver out of the game is mind-blowing, and is the biggest reason why the Jets are the league's number one defensive unit, and are in the playoffs.

Rookie of the Year: Percy Harvin. Over 700 yards, 6TD's, a big play threat who can stretch the field, AND what he gives the Vikings in the return game are all reasons why he wins in a relatively weak year for rookies.

Biggest Surprise (team): Despite the sluggish finish, the Cincinnati Bengals take the cake. The evolution of Cedric Benson, and the outstanding play of SC linebackers Keith Rivers, Rey Maualuga, and their corners are the reasons for their AFC North title, although they must play much better if they're going to win their rematch with the Jets.

Biggest Disappointment (team): As much as I want to pick the Steelers or Giants here, how can you forget the Chicago Bears. So much promise with the arrival of Cutler, return of Forte and their outstanding defense. Certainly losing Urlacher was devastating, but their defense became one of the league's worst units almost overnight, and Cutler and Forte were both spectacular busts this season. An across the board epic fail from the players and coaches, and Lovie Smith should be on the chopping block this offseason.

  1. Marc shouldn't you at least name the rookie of the year?
